This self-contained space features private parking, its own entrance via a traditional stable door, and a cozy courtyard and cottage garden that overlooks the picturesque Ladhope Burn. From the soothing sound of its charming little waterfall to the tranquil views of the surrounding countryside, every detail invites you to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Steeped in history, Ladhope Farmhouse is believed to have been rebuilt in 1850 by the 5th Duke of Buccleuch and 7th Duke of Queensberry.

The farmhouse and scullery sit amidst woodlands of native Scotch Pines and Oaks, alongside pastureland home to Black Faced Sheep and cattle. Wildlife is abundant, with Red Squirrels, Roe Deer, Voles, and Moles among the regular visitors.

Relax and Unwind

A Secret Garden & The Sound of Flowing Water

Step through the charming stable door entrance into your private courtyard, a secluded and peaceful space designed for quiet moments and simple pleasures.

Adjacent to the courtyard, a pocket cottage garden is planted with native hedging and enclosed by chestnut cleft fencing, creating a cosy, sheltered spot where you can breathe in the fresh country air with a morning coffee or wrap up in a woollen blanket as the evening light fades.

Buttercups and Wild Flowers

Beyond the garden, the Ladhope Burn and Ford flow gently past, their soothing waters cascading over our very own waterfall, a soft and rhythmic soundtrack to your stay. This wee burn continues its journey into the stunning Yarrow Water, which meanders through the length of the Yarrow Valley, reflecting the changing skies and the timeless beauty of the land.

Whether you’re stargazing under the velvety dark skies, enjoying the scent

of the woodland breeze, or simply soaking in the peaceful stillness, this little sanctuary is a place to rest, reconnect, and embrace the cosy magic of the countryside.
