Yes — there is private parking for one car to the rear of the property, included in the price of your stay.

Approximately 50 minutes by car via the A708 and A7. It's far enough to feel like a genuine escape and close enough to be reached easily in an afternoon. There is unfortunately no direct public transport to the Yarrow Valley. But there is The Borders Railway is a 30-mile (48 km) railway line in Scotland, reopened in 2015, connecting Edinburgh Waverley to Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders, with intermediate stations including Shawfair, Eskbank, and Galashiels

Excellent walking from the door. The Southern Upland Way passes close by, St Mary's Loch is around 6 miles, and you can walk straight onto open moorland from the property gate. Detailed walking routes are provided in the welcome guide.

Very much by design. There is no TV aerial signal — only a Smart TV for streaming. The Yarrow Valley has minimal phone signal. Full fibre WiFi is available when you want it, but most guests find they use it far less than expected.

The Gordon Arms in Yarrow (roughly 2 miles) is a much-loved local restaurant — a proper Borders institution with strong connections to James Hogg, the Ettrick Shepherd.
